Fellowship | The David Wojnarowicz Foundation

The David Wojnarowicz Foundation Fellowship is a semester-long undergraduate fellowship.

Fellows work with the Foundation to preserve, advance and honor the life and legacy of David Wojnarowicz—his art, writing and fierce commitment to social justice.

We are looking for talented students working towards an Associates or Bachelors degree in the Arts in New York City. Students awarded our paid fellowship contribute their artistic, graphic, research and writing skills to ongoing projects such as contributing to the Foundation’s social media networks.

Spring 2023 Fellow
Grace Healy was the inaugural fellow of The David Wojnarowicz Foundation in the spring of 2023 while an undergraduate student in Drawing at Pratt Institute. We were delighted to collaborate with Grace who played an important role as we launched new initiatives that continued to tell the stories of David’s life and his lasting impact thirty years after his death.

Fall 2023 Fellow
Anthony M. Sennett, a recent graduate of Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Design, joined us as a David Wojnarowicz Foundation fellow in the fall of 2023. Anthony shared their considerable graphics talents while advancing scholarship of David’s work through Instagram posts and micro-essays.

Spring 2024 Fellow
Sydney Lipner joined us as a David Wojnarowicz Foundation fellow in the spring of 2023 while a student at Pratt Institute pursuing their BFA/MA in Art and Design Education with a focus in drawing. Their fellowship focused on exploring current perspectives in arts education with the goal of helping raise awareness of David’s work in diverse cultural contexts and a variety of educational settings.
