September 1, 1973: David works at the first Pottery Barn on 10th Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets. Here he meets Wendy Wolosoff-Hayes and John Ensslin (his soon-to-be best friend and co-founder of the literary magazine Red M). He begins writing poetry.
