February 8, 1989: David creates In the Shadow of Forward Motion, at P·P·O·W Gallery. He rolls up in a truck full of new work half an hour before the show opens and types up the catalog on a manual typewriter with no notes. Wendy Olsoff and Penny Pinkerton hang the show of new “Something from Sleep” paintings and photographs from “The Sex Series.”
