December 4, 1982: David’s first solo show appears at Alexander Milliken gallery. “I was really happy with some of the images I made,” David tells his future biographer Cynthia Carr. “Things dealing with homosexuality, and guys arming themselves as defense against government’s intrusion in their sexual lives, things dealing with myth—self-created myth.”
