1981: David publishes “Sounds in the Distance” monologues with Aloe Books, London, following an introduction by Danceteria bartender, poet, and (brief) bandmate Max Blagg. William Burroughs provides a blurb for the back cover stating: “David Wojnarowicz has caught the age-old voice of the road, the voice of the traveler, the outcast, the thief, the whore, the same voice that was heard in Villon’s Paris, in the Rome of Petronius.”
