December 7, 1990: David’s friend, painter Luis Frangella dies of AIDS-related illness, at age 46.
Frangella was an Argentinian painter and sculptor trained as an architect at the University of Buenos Aires. He came to the United States to study at MIT. He painted street art in East Village and Tribeca nightclubs and on the Hudson River piers. Frangella and David traveled to Buenos Aires together.
