1986: David goes to Mexico with Tommy Turner and films most of Fire in My Belly. They watch Day of the Dead rituals in Mexico City. He creates the ant series photographs at Teotihuacán, a Mayan religious center in the Mexican Highlands. He flies Tommy to the Yucatan alone and returns to New York himself by bus.
