November, 1976: David hitchhikes back to New York from California. He resumes working at Bookmasters and starts to come out to his friends. He moves into 115 Court Street in Brooklyn where his friend John Ensslin’s murdered girlfriend Lee Adler had once lived with gay poets Dennis DeForge, Michael Morais and Jim McLauchlin. David shares the apartment with Morais, DeForge and later Steve Lacklow who all share the typewriter kept on the dining table.
