Zimmerli Art Museum, Rutgers

Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers university is a self-described ”active space filled with rich objects and fertile ideas drawn from both the past and the present, representing the myriad voices of diverse communities.”

The museum’s collection includes several sculptures, prints, and photographs by David Wojnarowicz.

The museum presented a 2016 “cameo exhibition” of David’s work entitled “Raging through Time: The Art of David Wojnarowicz” organized by Sophie Ong, PhD Candidate in the Art History Department. Ong describes David as “arguably one of the most important and influential figures of the 1980s New York avant-garde.”
