Yale University Art Gallery

The Yale University Art Museum holds two mixed-media sculptures by David Wojnarowicz in its collection: An Altar for the People of the Villa Miseria, 1984, and Untitled (Pig Skull), 1985, as well as the mixed-media painting When You The Invisible Cowboy, 1987.

The museum also owns a copy of the limited-edition 1992 collaborative publication Your House Is Mine, with 33 signed silkscreen prints, including David’s lithograph Democracy in America, 1992.

In addition to David’s lithograph, the publication features prints by artists such as Martin Wong, Sandra “Lady Pink” Fabara, and Lee Quiñones, along with essays by Chris Burden, Allen Ginsberg, Cookie Mueller, Andres Serrano, and others. The wood-and-metal-bound edition of 150, put together by Andrew and Paul Castrucci and Nadia Coen, was made in response to the 1988 summer riots in Tompkins Square Park.
