1983: Turmoil Theater’s Allen Frame and Kirsten Bates adapt and direct Turmoil in the Garden, based on eight of David’s “Sounds in the Distance” monologues. The play is performed in Bill Rice’s 13 East 3rd Street garden. Subsequent performances take place at BACA Downtown, in Brooklyn and in Berlin.
