Spring, 1983: After six months of sharing a studio on Houston Street with a friend, David successfully applies for studio space at PS1. HIs mentor, Peter Hujar writes a letter of reference writing “I sincerely hope that you will make a studio available to him. Certainly he will benefit from this as will those who come in contact with him and his work.”
